Hazzan Natasha J. Hirschhorn arrived in the United States from her native Ukraine in 1992. She is a graduate of the Moscow Gnesins' Musical College and the Kiev State Conservatory. She was the music director of the Kiev Jewish Youth Music Theater from 1990 to 1992.

In May 1999 Natasha was ordained as hazzan at the Academy for Jewish Religion. She has served as cantor of the Metropolitan Synagogue of New York and as cantor of Temple Judea in Massapequa, New York.

The author of numerous liturgical and secular compositions, Natasha is a member of the Long Island Composers Alliance. Her works have been performed at the Women Cantors' Network conference and the North American Jewish Choral Festival. She conducts the Brooklyn Jewish Choral Society and the choir of the Academy for Jewish Religion.

Natasha is featured on several CDs with Hazzan Dr. Ramón Tasat as singer, accompanist, arranger, and composer. She is also one of the principal arrangers of Norma's compositions. Natasha has worked with Norma and Ramón to introduce Shalshelet: The Foundation For New Jewish Liturgical Music. She is a Vice President of the Foundation. www.Shalshelet.org
